Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reportedly adopted Salesforce Inc's Slack for team communications. In an interview to Bloomberg, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “We have a lot to offer the government in terms of giving them opportunities to operate with more efficiency,” Benioff said in an interview Wednesday. “The DOGE team is using Slack, which is very exciting,” said Benioff.
US President Donald Trump has appointed Tesla CEO Elon Musk to lead a comprehensive White House initiative aimed at reducing government expenditures. This effort involves scrutinizing spending and eliminating programs opposed by the administration, causing concern among government contractors and software providers.
Despite potential risks to software vendors, Benioff reportedly views DOGE as an opportunity to enhance governmental efficiency through automation. He noted that while he hasn't met with Musk or Trump, Salesforce, as one of the largest software suppliers to the government—second only to Microsoft Corp, according to a 2024 U.S. Government Accountability Office report—is well-positioned to contribute to this initiative.
Stephen Ehikian, the acting administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration and a former Salesforce executive, has expressed plans to work closely with DOGE.

In the Twitter post, Benioff compared the AI-powered photo-generation capabilities of ChatGPT 4o and Grok-3. Benioff is said to have asked the AI chatbots to create an image with the phrase "United We Are" designed in an uplifting and visually striking style. The ChatGPT 4o got the image wrong by using the phrase “Unites We Are”, Grok created a photo with people from different backgrounds, holding a placard reading “United We Are”.
