Tim Walz has once again criticized Tesla CEO
Elon Musk, saying he should be “demonized”. Speaking at a town hall in Youngstown, Ohio, Walz addressed the impact of social media and the Democratic Party's view on success, during which he mentioned the tech billionaire. “We're creating a false narrative for them that everybody is super rich and has Lamborghinis and life is easy. But that's what we're going to have to figure out in our society about social media and all those things”, the Minnesota governor said.
He further added: “But I don't think we should be the party that demonizes someone because they're able to afford something. What we should demonize is someone like Elon Musk and those people that do that. That's different."
"What my beef is, once you get successful, don't be a greedy bastard and not pay your taxes," he said.
Elon Musk hits back at Tim Walz
Responding to a user’s X post sharing Walz’s video from the town hall event, Musk wrote “Tim Walz is a liar”
This is not the first time that Walz has criticized the tech CEO. Last month, he made fun of declining Tesla stocks. He then posted a video on X, saying “If you need a little boost during the day, check out Tesla stock.” In the video, he joked about adding Tesla to the Stocks app on his iPhone to watch its decline, quipping, “225 and dropping.” Taking the joke further, Walz added: “If you own one, we’re not blaming you. You can take dental floss and pull the Tesla thing off, you know.”
Responding to Walz, the tech billionaire wrote, “Sometimes when I need a little boost, I look at the @JDVance portrait in the @WhiteHouse and thank the Lord”. The comment was a not-so-subtle swipe at Walz, who was Kamala Harris’ running mate in last year’s election.
The feud didn’t end here. Trump's Rapid Response team also hit back at Walz with a social media post that read: “When we need a little boost during the day at the White House, we walk around the corner from our office and admire these beautiful portraits”.
