prakash javadekar

An active politician from India, Prakash Javadekar represents the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Currently, he is the incumbent Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; and Minister of Information and Broadcasting.

Earlier, he was holding the Human Resource Development (MHRD) of India. In 2008, Javadekar made it to the Rajya Sabha as an MP from Maharashtra and in 2014 he was re-elected from Madhya Pradesh. He is also the official spokesperson of the BJP.

Javadekar has been active in politics since college days and was a member of ABVP as a student. Even at the time of Indian Emergency under Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (from 1975 to 1977), Javadekar took part in student movements against the government.

He is married to Dr Prachee Javadekar and the couple has two sons.
