Sergey Brin, born as Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin, is a Russia-born computer scientist and the co-founder of <strong><a href="http://jeetwin-gaming.com/topic/Google" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">Google</a></strong>. Brin currently lives in America is the President of Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc.<br /> <br />After getting his bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, Brin enrolled in Stanford University to get a PhD in computer science. It is at Stanford he met <strong><a href="http://jeetwin-gaming.com/topic/larry-page" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">Larry Page</a></strong>, the current co-founder of Google. The duo stocked their dormitory room with old computers and applied Brin's data mining system to build a web search engine. Their experiment became a hit at the university, and they left their PhD halfway and went ahead to create Google.<br /><br />In addition to the entire brand called Google Brin and Page came up with the concept of <strong><a href="http://jeetwin-gaming.com/topic/google-doodle" data-type="tilCustomLink" target="_blank">Google Doodle</a></strong> after a funny episode. In 1998, the duo drew a stick figure behind the second 'o' of Google symbolising the message that they were out of office at the Burning Man festival and with that, Google Doodles were born.<br /><br />As of July 2017, Brin was found to be the 12th richest person in the world and had an estimated net worth of 45 billion dollars.<br /><br />Sergey Brin, after stepping down from his role as President of Alphabet Inc., Google's parent company, in 2019, has largely maintained a low public profile. He retains his positions as a co-founder, controlling shareholder, and board member at Alphabet.<br /><br />In 2020, reports surfaced of Brin's investments in a variety of nascent startups, with a particular focus on ventures dedicated to artificial intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, he is known to take a keen interest in global challenges, especially climate change.<br /><br />In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the field of computing, Brin was honored with the ACM's Grace Hopper Award in 2021. Throughout 2022, he continued his investments in early-stage startups and remained an advocate for the promotion of AI safety and climate action.
