Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician, the first Hindu to be elected to the United States Congress. She serves as the U.S. Representative for Hawaii's 2nd congressional district since 2013.

Gabbard was born on April 12, 1981, served as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) until February 28, 2016. She resigned from DNC owing to her differences with the establishment during the 2016 presidential elections. Gabbard had resigned to endorse Senator Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination.

Gabbard seconds abortion rights, Medicare for All, and Same-sex marriage. Currently, Gabbard is prepping to challenge Donald Trump, the incumbent Republican, for the top post for the US presidential election in 2020.

In August 2024, she has been actively involved in discussions on religious freedom and has criticized U.S. foreign policy, particularly regarding military interventions. Gabbard's stance on these issues continues to resonate with her base, especially those advocating for non-interventionism.
