Gujarat is located on the western shore of India and is a destination marked for its historic and cultural sites, colourful traditional garbs, ethnic jewellery, its cuisine and more. For a tourist seeking a healthy dose of Indian culture, Gujarat is the place to be.
Here, Somnath is primarily famous for its namesake temple, which enshrines the first of the twelve Jyotirlingams of Lord Shiva. Diu is an island located a bit off the coast of Kathiawad, close to the Port of Veraval in Gujarat. The city of Porbandar is famous as a beach destination and also for being the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi as well as Lord Krishna’s friend Sudama. On the other hand, Dwarka in Gujarat is reputed for being the capital of Lord Krishna’s kingdom about 6,000 years back. It is also one of the most visited destinations in Gujarat due to its spiritual and cultural significance.
