Yellowstone's designation as a national park set the tone for the establishment of protected areas worldwide. It started a global conservation movement that continues to this day.

Yellowstone specialties
One of Yellowstone's most popular features is its geothermal activity. Because the park sits on top of a supervolcano, we get to see a number of geysers, hot springs, and mud pots. One such geyser is the Old Faithful. It is one of the park's most famous geysers.
The Grand Prismatic Spring, located in the Midway Geyser Basin, is probably one of the most photographed features here. Even from afar, one can see the stunning rainbow of vibrant colours. The Grand Prismatic Spring is the largest hot spring in the United States.

Yellowstone National Park's legacy as the world's first national park is a testament to humanity's capacity to recognise the value of preserving our natural wonders. Its geothermal wonders, diverse wildlife, and stunning landscapes have continued to captivate and inspire generations. No wonder it is also one of the most visited places in North America.
