Garcelle Beauvais unfollows former ‘RHOBH’ castmates after announcing her exit; says, ‘It’s time for a fresh start’

Garcelle Beauvais has exited 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' after four seasons, citing family priorities and upcoming projects. Following her departure announcement, fans noticed Beauvais unfollowed several co-stars on Instagram, including Sutton Stracke, Kyle Richards, and Erika Girardi. While some co-stars still follow Beauvais, Girardi reciprocated the unfollow, hinting at unresolved tensions.

Garcelle Beauvais is turning the page — both on-screen and online. Just weeks after announcing her departure from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the actress and former Bravo star has begun distancing herself from her past castmates, starting with a social media cleanse.
Fans quickly noticed that Beauvais, 58, had unfollowed several of her former RHOBH co-stars on Instagram, including longtime friend Sutton Stracke, as well as Kyle Richards, Erika Girardi, Dorit Kemsley, and Bozoma Saint John. However, she has not completely severed all digital ties — she still follows Stracke’s namesake boutique and her event company, and remains connected to former castmates Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly.
Interestingly, while Stracke, Richards, Kemsley, and Saint John still follow Beauvais, Erika Girardi appears to have returned the unfollow in kind, signaling that any off-screen tensions may not have fully healed.
The shift comes on the heels of Beauvais’ emotional announcement that she would not be returning for another season of the Bravo hit. In a heartfelt Instagram video shared last month, Beauvais said, “I have some news: I have decided to leave Beverly Hills. It’s been a wild ride, some amazing things have happened, and some hard things have also happened — but it’s been a ride nevertheless.”
She explained that the decision came from a desire to prioritize family and explore new creative opportunities.
“One of the reasons why I’m leaving is my family, my boys. Their last year of high school is next year and I want to be a part of that,” she said. “And secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing, and acting in — I can’t tell you anything now but you’ll know soon.”
Beauvais joined RHOBH in Season 10 and made history as the franchise’s first Black cast member. Known for her poise, wit, and willingness to speak her mind, she quickly became a fan favorite. Her evolving friendship with Sutton Stracke was one of the emotional anchors of the series, making the recent Instagram shift all the more surprising to longtime viewers.
While her chapter on Real Housewives may have closed, Beauvais clearly isn’t slowing down. With her focus now on family and upcoming entertainment projects, she’s ready to take center stage on her own terms — and maybe without all the drama.
