Soon after joining
Ram Bhavan,
Ajay Singh Chaudhary has now taken on a pivotal role in
Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, in which he portrays another intense,
negative character. Sharing details about his role, he says, “I play Shrichand Goyal, a powerful business tycoon with his own set of motives. He’s a man of influence, and how his presence impacts the lives of Savi (Bhavika Sharma), Rajat (Hitesh Bharadwaj), and their family will be revealed in the upcoming track.”
Given that the show has undergone major revamps recently — with the latest being perceived as a final attempt to revive ratings — was Ajay hesitant about coming on board? “Any show that runs for a long time will naturally see changes in its cast and storyline,” he explains.
“But looking at Ghum’s track record and its deep connection with viewers, I consider myself fortunate to be joining it. Every producer aims to improve their show, and that’s exactly what the makers of Ghum are doing. The audience is loyal, and the story they’re venturing into now is different. Honestly, any actor would be happy to be part of such a well-established show.”
Ajay also shares a personal connection with the show’s producer.
“Rajesh Ram Singh, who’s producing Ghum, directed Phulwa (2011–2012), and we’ve shared a strong friendship since then. He’s always been more than just a colleague — a mentor, a guide, and like family. It really feels like a homecoming. We’ve wanted to work together again for years, and it’s finally happening.”
Managing two daily soaps can be demanding, but Ajay feels supported by both teams. “I’ve also had a longstanding bond with Rahul Tewary, the producer of Ram Bhavan. He was the co-producer of Phulwa and has been like an elder brother to me. When he offered me the role, I didn’t hesitate for a second. Both Rajesh and Rahul are more like family than just producers. So professionally, yes, it’s a challenge — but the personal camaraderie makes it seamless.Things are running smoothly now, and I believe they’ll continue that way,” he says.
