Gujarat: Police deployed outside Surat court in wake of Rahul Gandhi’s visit

As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to appeal against his conviction in a defamation case in Surat court, Congress workers stand outside the court with banners to support them. Police forces were also deployed outside the court to maintain security. Notably, Rahul Gandhi was convicted in a defamation case on March 23 by Surat District Sessions Court. “Given the presence of Rahul Gandhi in Surat district court the Surat city police have deployed the police force wherever there is a possibility of movement. We will also be starting frisking and checking,” said DCP (Zone-4) Sagar Bagmar.
