Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended Basava Jayanthi celebrations at Basava Mandapa Center of Bagalkote in Karnataka on April 23. Addressing a public gathering he compared lord Basava to light in the darkness and said that it is difficult to question oneself before questioning others and give light. He said, “Just like darkness in the society, earlier then there was darkness. And lord Basava came out like a light in the darkness. A person does not give light just like that, he has to question himself first. It is easy to question others, it is difficult to question oneself.”
