Unknown person chops off leg of ‘Granthi’ in Punjab’s Tarn Taran

In Punjab’s Tarn Taran, a ceremonial reader of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib (Granthi Singh) was attacked by an unknown person and in the attack, his leg was allegedly chopped off. “So far, we have received information from the people that Granthi Singh’s leg was chopped off by some people. When we reached the spot till then his family members took him to the Civil Hospital, from where he was referred and then he was admitted to a private hospital in Amritsar,” said Jatinder Singh, ASI. “Our senior official was also informed about the case, our forces searched (for the leg) last night and today morning as well but we could not find any such thing, but only after his statement, things will be clear,” the ASI informed further. “He was attacked at an isolated place near Baba Gurmak Singh, Uttam Singh School. So far, there has been no statement filed by him, we are going to the Hargun Hospital in Amritsar, and after his statement, we will begin the legal proceedings,” concluded Jatinder Singh.
