A month after vandalism, Mamata Banerjee unveils Vidyasagar bust at Kolkata college

CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday unveiled a bust of the noted reformer at the Vidyasagar College in mega event, a month after Bengal was rocked by the Vidyasagar statue vandalism and ensuing protests. The old one was vandalised during a roadshow of BJP president Amit Shah last month. The event was attended by a host of politicians, intellectuals, noted artists of the Bengali film industry and others. Mamata Banerjee and other guests took turns to garland the Vidyasagar bust with much fanfare.
