Veteran actress Shabana Azmi is an avid social media user and often raises her voice on the important issues happening in the country. Recently, the actress took to her Twitter handle to raise an alarm after being conned in an online payment scam. While revealing how she fell into the trap of the online payment scam, she tweeted the details on how she placed the order and made the payment in advance. In her tweet, she also stated that her order has still not been delivered to her and that the people committing the scam have even stopped picking up her calls now. While issuing a warning for everyone to beware of such scam, she wrote, 'BEWARE I have been cheated by them. I paid upfront and when the ordered item didn't turn up they stopped picking up my calls!' As soon as she dropped this tweet about the online fraud, several netizens took to the comment section and suggested an actress a few solutions. The local Andheri Lokhandwala-Oshiwara Citizens organisations also reacted to her tweet and advised her to lodge a police complaint about the same. The tweet reads, 'Madam on Google the numbers displayed are fake For 99% of liquor stores. Plz file a police complaint & raise awareness on this issue wherein thousands of people have got robbed of their hard-earned money'. Some of the netizens even shared their own experience of falling prey to such online scams. While one of the Twitter users wrote, 'There is fake number /guys in name of the liquor store, I personally know 3 cases of cheating by same number one of which 42K was lost', another one asked, 'Is this the alcohol store scam that has spread all over in Mumbai?' Meanwhile, on the work front, Shabana Azmi was last seen in the film 'Neerja'.
