Star test cricketer
Rishabh Pant's plan to surprise his mother ahead of the new year turned into a horrific accident after his car collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the wee hours on Friday.
Pant was travelling from Delhi to Roorkee and had a miraculous escape as the car caught fire after the high-speed accident. The cricketer has suffered multiple injuries in the crash, but his condition is reported to be stable. He is currently being treated at the MAX hospital in Dehradun.
The reports of CT scan of his brain and spinal cord have returned "normal", BCCI officials who are in constant touch with Max Dehradun said.
The 25-year-old dozed off and lost control of his Mercedes early morning on Friday en route to his home in Roorkee. He was alone in the car.
The accident happened at Mohammadpur Jat in Manglaur town of Haridwar district.
Prime Minister
Narendra Modi prayed for the good health of the wicketkeeper and dialed his family to take stock of his health.
Now an old video of the player with senior
Shikhar Dhawan is going viral on social media in which the latter could be heard advising his junior to drive his vehicle slowly and safely.
During IPL 2019, Pant and Dhawan sat down for a chat for Delhi Capitals, of whom the former is captain.
In the old clip, Pant asks Dhawan about any advice he would like to give him. To which the senior opener replies, "Gaadi araam se chalaya kar." (drive your car carefully). The duo then burst into laughter as the ace wicketkeeper-batsman promises Dhawan that he will drive carefully.
Netizens are now posting the video after Pant met with the accident. Many users quipped that this video was proof that Pant’s driving was dangerous.
