PM Modi to inaugurate key projects in Kanpur on Apr 24
Kanpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the city on April 24 and will inaugurate three key projects namely Panki Power Plant, Neyveli Power Ghatampur and the Metro's second phase. He might also launch the Bilhaur solar power plant and initiate several other projects.
The PM's visit is expected to draw large crowds for which elaborate security arrangements are being made across the city. The district authorities are working closely with the Special Protection Group (SPG) to ensure foolproof security during the high-profile visit.
The Panki Power Plant, a state-of-the-art thermal power facility, will increase the region's electricity generation capacity significantly. Similarly, the Neyveli Power Ghatampur project will contribute to meeting the growing energy demands of Uttar Pradesh, and the Metro's second phase expansion will improve urban mobility and connectivity in the city.
The public gathering at the Railway ground in Nirala Nagar is expected to accommodate thousands of attendees. Multiple entry and exit points are being established, along with medical facilities and water arrangements. Local police forces are conducting thorough security drills and establishing traffic management plans. BJP workers are mobilising support at the grassroots level, with party members conducting door-to-door visits to inform citizens about the Prime Minister's programme. Additional temporary structures, including stages and covered seating areas, are being erected at the venue.
The district administration has formed various committees to oversee different aspects of the visit, including crowd management, parking facilities, and emergency response systems. Healthcare teams will be stationed at strategic locations, and additional ambulances will be deployed.
The Prime Minister's assessment of district development initiatives is expected to focus on ongoing infrastructure projects, welfare schemes, and urban development programmes.
