A 23-year-old engineering student from Mizoram, VL Valentine, was fatally stabbed by his college mate, Lamsang Swala, following an argument while drinking in Nagaroor, Kerala. The incident occurred around 10.45 pm on Saturday. Valentine was taken to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram but succumbed to his injuries. Police have taken Swala into custody.

A 23-year-old engineering student, VL Valentine, from Mizoram was fatally stabbed by his college mate, Lamsang Swala, near their institute in Nagaroor, Kerala.
NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old engineering student from Mizoram was stabbed to death by his college mate, who is also from the northeastern state, near their institute in Nagaroor, Kerala, police said on Sunday.
The victim, VL Valentine, was a fourth-year student at a private engineering college. His collegemate, Lamsang Swala (23), has been taken into custody in connection with the case.
According to police, the incident occurred around 10.45pm on Saturday.
A group of students had been drinking alcohol together when a heated argument broke out. During the altercation, Valentine was stabbed.
The injured student was rushed to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to a hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, but he succumbed to his injuries, police added.
