Darshan at the famous Jyotiba Temple will be shut for devotees on Monday. The temple opens every day at 5am.
Every year on the first Monday after the annual fair, the temple located in Wadi-Ratnagiri hill is cleaned both inside and outside.
This year's annual fair at the temple in Pannala tehsil was held recently. Jyotiba temple also known as ‘Dakshin Kashi' hosts lakhs of people during this time.
After the fair, heavy rains help clean the temple which gets coated with gulal smeared by devotees. The cleaning is referred to as Pakhalni and is done three to four times a year.
On Sunday, a day before the cleaning drive, the temple is expected to witness a rush.
