ARA: An auto ride back from a 'mundan' (tonsure) ceremony turned fatal when a speeding truck rammed the parked vehicle, killing four occupants and injuring 12 others on Ara-Buxar NH near Shahpur in Bihar's Bhojpur Thursday, reports
A group of around 16 to 17 people were returning after the 'mundan' of a six-year-old boy at Gupta Dham in Rohtas, one of the injured passengers, Pinki Devi, told reporters. "On our return journey, the auto ran out of fuel. The driver went to fetch petrol from a nearby fuel station. Suddenly, a 10-wheeled speeding truck crashed into the auto," Pinki added. The impact was so intense that the mangled auto was flung into a roadside ditch.
"Ajit Kumar (10), Suhago Devi (50), Subhagya Devi (65) and Siratiya Devi (65) died on the spot," Shahpur SHO Kumar Rajnikant said.
