Carlos Correa shares his take on Alex Bregman leaving Astros for Red Sox
On Saturday, MLB.com released an interview with Carlos Correa during which he talked about his reaction when the Houston Astros decided not to pursue Alex Bregman. According to Correa, he wasn't surprised even a bit from the Astros to let go of their third baseman. Opening up about his reaction, Correa said:
"We knew it was going to happen at some point. And as players you want to explore the market and see what you’re truly worth, and that’s what Alex did, that’s what I did [too]."Carlos Correa can relate to Alex Bregman's decision to explore the free agent market because he did the same thing when he left the Houston Astros to join the Fresno Grizzlies in 2015. Currently, he plays for the Minnesota Twins, which he joined in 2022 for a whopping contract of $105.3 million.
Carlos Correa would be heading into the 2025 regular season, coming from a long two-year stretch that the shortstop had to deal with due to multiple injuries. However, Correa is 100% healthy and hungry for winning the World Series Championship with the Twins. Sharing his health status, moving forward in the interview, Correa said:
“I feel great, I feel ready to go. [I] spent the whole offseason getting the feet right and we’re in a great spot right now. It's a great division. When you look at the pitching in our division, out of the top 10, top 15 strikeout leaders, we had about half of them in the American League."Talking about Alex Bregman, there has been tension ongoing around his playing position for the regular season, MLB insider Jon Morosi
