His next production ‘Mahalaya’ is all set for a grand release this Friday. Interestingly, Prosenjit Chatterjee is not only bankrolling the project under the banner of Nideas, he has also played a key role in this Soumik Sen directorial.

“My character is equally important but short in length. It is actually through his perspective that you will see the film. Plus, I have also dubbed for the film,” said Prosenjit. We hear, he plays the role of a government official with a conservative mindset.
‘Mahalaya’ stars Subhashish Mukherjee and Jisshu Sengupta as Birendra Krishna Bhadra and Uttam Kumar respectively.
The story revolves around the public outrage in 1976 following Akashvani Kolkata’s controversial replacement of Birendra Krishna Bhadra with Uttam Kumar for Mahisasurmardini, a program to welcome goddess Durga to earth.
