Moushumi Chatterjee recently shared her experiences regarding Amitabh Bachchan’s rise to stardom in an interview. She reminisced about their collaborations in films such as 'Benaam,' 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan,' and the 1979 blockbuster 'Manzil.' During the conversation, she reflected on the impact that fame has had on Bachchan.
Speaking to Anandabazar Patrika, Moushumi discussed Amitabh Bachchan's early struggles in his career. She acknowledged that he worked hard to achieve stardom but observed a noticeable change in him after he became a superstar, suggesting that this change was not necessarily for the better. Chatterjee remarked, "When you receive so much, you behave very differently. You won’t even be able to think about helping others." She recalled how Bachchan's brother, Ajitabh, would arrange for a car to pick him up from the sets, highlighting that he used to be a very quiet person who often had lunch alone with the hairdresser.

Moushumi and Bachchan were last seen together in the film 'Piku', which was released in 2015. At that time, she expressed her admiration for Amitabh’s enthusiasm for work, likening his dedication to that of a newcomer. She noted that even at the age of 72, he displayed remarkable punctuality and discipline, stating, "If you ask him to get ready at 6 am, he will be ready."
Moushumi's acting career began in 1967 with the Bengali film 'Balika Badhu'. She has since appeared in a variety of films, including 'Parineeta', 'Anuraag', 'Kuchhe Dhaage', 'Zehreela Insaan', 'Roti Kapda Aur Makaan', 'Benaam', 'Manzil', 'Swayamvar', 'Pyaasa Saawan', 'Angoor', and 'Ghayal'. Her most recent roles include the Hindi film 'Piku' and the Bengali film 'Sesh Sangbad', where she portrayed Bachchan’s sister-in-law. Throughout her career, her contributions to both Hindi and Bengali cinema have been widely recognized.
