PUNE: The National Film Archive of India, along with Aashay Film Club and Aayam, a group of women in media, will organise a two-day film festival on the theme ‘Travelling women’ on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The festival will also pay a tribute to actor
Sridevi.
The festival will be inaugurated at 4.30pm on March 9. Aayam will felicitate travel blogger Ritu Harish Goyal for her evocative writing.
The festival will open with Sidney Pollack’s Out Of Africa, featuring Meryl Streep.
Balu Mahendra’s Tamil film Moondram Pirai will be screened at 6pm on March 10. It features Kamal Haasan and Sridevi in what is regarded as one of her best performances as a woman suffering from retrograde amnesia.
