Orry and 7 others face legal action for alleged alcohol consumption near Vaishno Devi Shrine in Jammu

Orhan Awatramani, known as Orry, along with seven others, has been booked by the Jammu and Kashmir Police for allegedly drinking alcohol near the Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. Drinking alcohol and eating non-vegetarian food is strictly banned in the area to protect the shrine’s religious significance.

ANI reported, “As per police, FIR was registered against eight people, including socialite influencer Orhan Awatramani aka Orry, for allegedly consuming alcohol in a hotel located in Katra.”
As per India TV, on 15th March 2025, a photo started circulating on social media showing Orry and his friends partying in a hotel room. In the picture, a bottle of alcohol was clearly visible in the room. Since Katra is the base camp for pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi, strict rules prohibit alcohol and non-vegetarian food to maintain the spiritual environment. The hotel manager stated that on 15th March, Orry, Darshan Singh, Parth Raina, Hrithik Singh, Rashi Dutta, Rakshita Bhogal, Shagun Kohli, and Anastasila Arjamaskina consumed alcohol despite being warned it was strictly banned near the Vaishno Devi Shrine.

Due to the seriousness of the matter, SSP Reasi ordered strict action. A team led by Paramvir Singh (JKPS) was formed to catch the offenders and set an example that alcohol or drug use at religious sites will not be tolerated. The team, supervised by senior police officers, is monitoring those who violated the rules and hurt public sentiments.SSP Reasi issued a strict warning, stating that anyone who breaks the law and disturbs peace, especially by using alcohol or drugs, will face serious consequences. He emphasised that such behaviour will not be tolerated.
