Lijo Jose Pellissery and Listin Stephen unite for ‘Moonwalk’, a dance-driven tale of 80s youth culture

Celebrated filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery and renowned producer Listin Stephen are joining forces for the first time for an exciting new project titled ‘Moonwalk’.

Announced through a joint video, this much-anticipated collaboration brings together LJP’s distinct cinematic style and Listin Stephen’s expertise in production.

Presented by Lijo Jose Pellissery under the banners of Magic Frames, Amen Movie Monastery, and Firewood Shows, Moonwalk is directed by debutant Vinod A.K., known for his work in advertising. The film aims to capture the energy of the breakdance movement and the global craze for Michael Jackson that swept through Kerala during the 1980s and '90s. Set against this vibrant backdrop, Moonwalk explores the lives of a group of passionate pre-degree students whose world revolves around music, dance, and youthful dreams.

Filmed across Thiruvananthapuram and nearby areas, ‘Moonwalk’ promises a nostalgic yet fresh cinematic experience. Set for a May release, the film will be distributed through Magic Frames.
Introducing fresh talents
With over a hundred newcomers in the cast, Moonwalk follows in the footsteps of Lijo Jose Pellissery's ‘Angamaly Diaries’, giving fresh faces a powerful platform. Alongside the debutants, seasoned actors like Sreekanth Murali, Veena Nair, Sanjana Doss, and Meenakshi Ravindran will also appear in pivotal roles.
Stunning crew
The story, screenplay, and dialogues are crafted by Vinod A.K., Mathew Varghese, and Sunil Gopalakrishnan. Music is composed by Prashant Pillai, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar, Sunil Gopalakrishnan, and Nithin V Nair. The technical team includes cinematographer Ansar Shah, editors Deepu Joseph and Kiran Das, and choreographer Sreejith Master.
