Kamal Haasan remembers Nagesh on his birth anniversary

It's the legendary actor Nagesh's birth anniversary today and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan took to his social media page to remember the multi-faceted genius. He posted, ‘நாகேஷ் அய்யா... உம்மை நினைக்காத நாட்கள் மிகச்சிலவே. பல தலைமுறைகளை மகிழ்வித்த வித்தகர். அந்த ரசிகர் கூட்டத்தில்நானும் உட்படுவேன். நண்பனாய் மாறுவேடம் பூண்டு வந்த என் குருக்களில் அவரும் ஒருவர். என் கலை மரபணுவில் அவரும் வாழ்கிறார் (sic)’ which translates to, ‘Nagesh Sir, The days I don’t think of you are very few.He is a legend who has entertained many generations. I am one of your fans among the crowd. He was my guru in the disguise of a friend. His art will live in me forever.’

Kamal Haasan has shared screen space with Nagesh in a number of films including Gumastavin Magal, Vasool Raja MBBS, Apoorva Sagodharargal, Michael Madana Kama Rajan, Nammavar, Avvai Shanmugi, Dasavatharam, Panchathanthiram and Kaathala Kaathala. Kamal Haasan has always stated that he held Nagesh in high regard. He has maintained that he was inspired by the legendary actors Sivaji Ganesan, Nagesh and Manorama.
