That Taapsee and
Vijay Sethupathi are shooting for their film, directed by debutant Deepak Sundarrajan, in Jaipur is known. But not many know that the team is filming at City Palace, Rambagh Palace and Samode Palace in the Pink City. We hear that the yet-to-be-titled film has a period setting, and it will be an out-and-out comedy.
A source in the know reveals, “The entire cast and crew have been shooting in Jaipur for the past 20 days.
The Rajasthan government was very supportive, and permission was granted without much hassle. The team, including the actors, did a COVID-19 test and stayed quarantined at home before catching their flight to Jaipur. The makers have rented all the rooms in Samode Palace and everyone — from the artistes to the last of the crew member — is staying inside the complex. There’s three-layer protection and the outer gate is closed for visitors. Even the meals are served inside by the palace staff. Except for a few actors, no crew member is above 40 years of age. They are following all the SOPs mandated by the government.”
Recently, Radikaa Sarathkumar, who is playing an integral role in the film, shared a selfie with Vijay Sethupathi from the shooting spot, where the latter was seen dressed in royal garbs. The source adds, “It’s a period film, and has a royal setting. Taapsee plays a street-smart woman.”
The team will be staying there for almost 40 days. The cast also includes Yogi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Jagapathi Babu, Suresh Menon, Devadarshini, Chetan, Subbu Panchu, George, Surekha Vani, Ramesh Thilak, Raj, Madhumita, Linga and Sunil.
Meanwhile....Adimai Penn one of the last Tamil films to be shot hereAccording to the source, MGR-Jayalalithaa-starrer Adimai Penn, directed by K Shankar, is the last Tamil film to be shot at these heritage properties in Rajasthan. The source adds, “It’s difficult to get permission to do extensive shoots at City Palace. So, the crew had matched certain sequences at Samode Palace as well. The richness of these properties can especially be seen in the song Aayiram Nilave Vaa.”
