Formula One has seen some of the all-time greats reign supreme on the circuit, but when it comes to winning the Grand Prix, few have autographed their names in history books. As the 2025 season has already begun, below are the five greatest winners of races on the grid and how they are listed in the sport's all-time records.
Best F1 Drivers with the Most Race Wins in Formula 1 History! 🏎️🏆

Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton remains the all-time record holder of the highest Formula One wins in history, which he shattered at the 2020 Portuguese Grand Prix when he surpassed Michael Schumacher's 91 Grand Prix wins. The seven-time world champion remains the most successful driver in the records of the number of race wins, with 105 wins to his credit.
Following a winless streak spanning more than two years, Hamilton finally broke his duck at the 2024 British Grand Prix. He went on to win his 105th career win at the Belgian Grand Prix after his teammate George Russell was disqualified, showing that his victory appetite is still high.

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher was an F1 legend with 91 Grand Prix and seven world championships under his belt. He raced for Jordan, Bentley, Ferrari, and Mercedes earning 155 podiums and 1,566 career points throughout 306 race starts. His dominance was overtaken by Fernando Alonso in 2005 when Alonso deposed him by claiming consecutive championships.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen has rapidly climbed the all-time F1 winners' table, becoming one of the sport's greats. At 63 wins, he is now third on the all-time list. His relentless dominance over the past few years has seen him win numerous world titles and an increasingly extensive portfolio of victories. Only 27 years young, Verstappen is well more than halfway to pursuing even more records. While Red Bull is still a force to be considered in Formula 1, it will only be a matter of time before his total of wins blows open even bigger.

Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel won 53 Grand Prix in his 16 years of racing and four consecutive world championships from 2010 to 2013. With Red Bull, Ferrari, and Aston Martin, he drove and became renowned for his precision and dominance of the sport in the early 2010s, particularly driving for Red Bull, where he shattered many records.

Alain Prost

Four-time world champion Alain Prost, the winner of 51 Grand Prix and previous record holder for most wins up to 2001, drove between 1980 and 1993. Prost was extremely consistent in taking at least one victory a year from 1981 through to 1990. His intense duel with Ayrton Senna is one of the all-time great F1 duels.
