The Natural Disasters are one of the most physically imposing duos in the history of professional wrestling. The duo, popularly known as Earthquake (John Tenta), and Typhoon (Fred Ottman) are together known as The Natural Disasters.
To celebrate their legendary history, WWE has recently announced that they will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as members of the class of 2025. On the March 24 episode of RAW, The Natural Disasters was announced by WWE as the first tag team inductee and the fourth inductee overall of the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
As per WWE, the Natural Disasters acted as a vital force in the growth of WWE to where it is today. The pair reigned supreme in an era as an incredible tag team from 1991 to 1993.
Typhoon joined forces with Earthquake in late 1990, and the pair ran roughshod over the WWE due in part to their combined weight of nearly 900 lbs. During their time in WWF, the Tag Team engaged in epic in-ring showdowns with Money Inc., The Legion of Doom, and The Nasty Boys and turned out as champions.
The Natural Disasters’ WWE journey
The Natural Disasters, a powerhouse tag team consisting of Earthquake and Typhoon, formed in mid-1991 after Tugboat turned heel and aligned with Earthquake under the management of Jimmy Hart. The duo quickly became dominant forces in the ring, feuding with teams like The Bushwhackers and the Legion of Doom.
In 1992, they won the
WWF Tag Team Championship by defeating Money Inc. However, after a brief stint in WWF, their partnership dissolved in 1993 when Earthquake left the WWF.

Later, Earthquake (John Tenta) died in 2006 from metastatic bladder cancer, while Typhoon is still associated with WWE. As per reports, Fred Ottman has recently confirmed that he is under a WWE Legends deal.
