“What 10 years of experience can get you? Crazy offers,” Jolapara wrote in his X post which also includes the screenshot of Google’s offer.
The Google job offer that sparked online buzz revealed a generous compensation package. According to the screenshot, the candidate, who lacks a traditional tech background and a degree from a top-tier institution, was offered a Senior Software Engineer position with an annual salary of Rs 65 lakh. In addition to this base salary, the tech giant’s offer included a Rs 9 lakh annual bonus, a Rs 19 lakh signing bonus, and a Rs 5 lakh relocation bonus.

How users reacted to Google's job offer

This offer has surprised many and ignited debate about the evolving landscape of tech hiring, where skills and experience are increasingly valued over traditional credentials.
"Am I the only one who's not thrilled looking at these numbers? I mean aren't they common in tech? Am I missing something?🤔” one user wrote in support of the offer.

Similarly, another user pointed out: “To be very honest. Not impressed with the numbers. I’ve seen better by the same company. But I’m happy for him. 10 years experience and L5 requires a lot of expertise.”

“Interesting to see people thinking these big numbers as low ball park figures. Tech jobs have really deflated money,” a third user highlighted.

A fourth user also noted that the pay package offered by Google for 10 years of experience is still low. He wrote: “Am I the only one who thinks this guy must be kinda bad or at best, bang average? 10 years xp and still a pretty mediocre pay packet all things considered. Kinda cute.”
