Actor Nikkhil Arya, known for popular shows like Kesar, Kasturi, Tere Liye, Chandrakanta, Haiwan, Brahmarakshas, and Kumkum Bhagya and recently seen in Marathi movie Gulaabi alongside Mrinal Kulkarni, turns a year older today.. On this special day, he says that he has never been very fond of big birthday celebrations. He prefers to keep it low-key.
“I am somebody who runs away from birthdays. I personally like it to be a private affair, but most of the time it does not remain that way because all my close ones, well-wishers, and friends don’t let it remain private. I’m not complaining because these are blessings from people who mean well. This time, it seems like there will be different kinds of celebrations with friends, colleagues, and family,” he says.
Talking about his birthday memories, he says, “I have many beautiful memories, and a couple of them stand out. I still remind my closest cousin that he met his wife at one of my birthday parties. I also vividly remember one birthday, 25 years back, when I bought something my mom loved with my first big paycheck.”
Discussing birthday traditions, he adds, “I don’t have any rituals on my birthday, just pure gratitude. It’s like another fulfilling year. I make sure to do a little bit of introspection and hope and pray that I keep growing as a person in the coming year in all aspects. I’ve learned that even as one grows older, there’s so much to learn and experience. It’s never too late or risky to do something for the first time as long as you are passionate about it and ready to put your heart and soul into it. Immerse yourself in the process, and the results will follow.”
