Infosys dismisses 45 trainees at Mysuru facility after failing internal assessments
BENGALURU: Infosys has dismissed 45 trainees at its Mysuru facility following their inability to pass internal assessments, even after receiving three opportunities to qualify, sources told TOI. This marks the second instance of such terminations at the IT firm's Mysuru facility in 45 days. In February, Infosys terminated around 350 freshers at its Mysuru campus after they failed to clear internal assessments.
“Further to the announcement of the results of your final assessment attempt, please be informed that you did not meet the qualifying criteria in the ‘foundation skills training programme’ despite the additional preparation time, doubt-clearing sessions, and several mock assessment opportunities. As a result, you will not be able to continue your journey in the apprenticeship programme. While this may be a disappointing outcome, we are here to further support you in your learning journey,” the company said in an email to affected freshers.
Infosys communicated through email that it would provide professional outplacement assistance to the impacted trainees. “Additionally, we wish to offer you another career pathway by taking an Infosys-sponsored external training to prepare for potential roles in the BPM industry. On successful completion of the training, you may also apply to available opportunities in Infosys BPM,” the note said. An email sent to Infosys did not elicit a response till the time of going to the press.
On completing a separation and general release agreement, the company said it will offer one month's salary, a relieving letter, a 12-week training programme for potential roles in the BPM sector, and a standard travel allowance to their hometowns. Additionally, the company will provide accommodation in the employee care centre in Mysuru until the date of their departure and access to counselling services.
