AHMEDABAD: Chhello Show, or ‘Last Film Show’ in English, a Gujarati movie shot in Gujarat, made it to the last 15 of international feature films shortlisted for the next round of voting at
Oscars.
The announcement was made by the Academy on Thursday. ‘Films from 92 countries and regions were eligible in the category. Academy members from all branches were invited to participate in the preliminary round of voting and must have met a minimum viewing requirement to be eligible to vote ,’ the Academy website stated.
The film, a semi-autobiographical tale of a child’s love for moving images, by director
Pan Nalin — an NID graduate — has won several laurels at film festivals.
The film got a wide release in October before its launch on an OTT platform in November.
