Bengaluru: A day after media reported about IPS officer Vartika Katiyar's complaint against one of her senior officers, the govt Monday transferred her from Internal Security Division and posted her as deputy inspector general of police & additional commandant general, home guards & ex-officio additional director, civil defence, Bengaluru, in the downgraded vacant post.
Vartika was deputy inspector general of police, ISD, Bengaluru. She complained to the chief secretary on Feb 20 that two constables and a home guard took the key to her office from the police control room and illegally entered it on Sept 6 last year. The duo took photos of some files and transmitted them through WhatsApp to another person, sources said, citing from the complaint.
