MHOW: After quarrelling with his wife, a man hacked to death their two sons, aged 3 and 4 years, in MP's Dhar district late Thursday night, police said on Friday.
The accused, 32-year-old Sikdar, fled the scene, leaving his kids to bleed to death, but was arrested on Friday. The horrific incident took place in Bhanwarpura village, around 190km from Indore. "Sikdar had a heated argument with his wife, Manju, 30, and allegedly tried to strangle her, following which she left home for the night with their eldest son," Kukshi subdivisional police officer Sunil Gupta told TOI. The two younger kids, Akash and Vikas, were left at home with their father.
When Manju returned home in the morning, she was horrified to find the little boys lying dead in pools of blood, said Gupta, adding that they were probably attacked with a sickle. Both suffered fatal wounds in the neck and back.
Distraught, Manju informed the village sarpanch, Pratap Singh Patel, who alerted police. A team from Dahi police station went to the crime scene, retrieved the bodies for autopsy and took forensic samples.
Additional SP Gitesh Garg said the accused had fled into the nearby jungles but was tracked down and nabbed.
The bodies have been handed over to relatives for the last rites.
