BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) has arrested former Bishop P.C. Singh from Mangalore, Karnataka, in connection with multiple charges of fraud and forgery.A total of 64 criminal cases have been registered against Singh across various states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Haryana, as well as by the Enforcement Directorate. An FIR (Crime No. 82/25) was registered under Sections 406, 420, and 120B of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against P.C. Singh, former Bishop of the Jabalpur Diocese, and Paul Dupare, Chairman of the Nagpur Diocesan Trust Association (NDTA). The case involves embezzlement of ₹2,45,30,830, which was compensation received for the acquisition of 0.22 hectares of land belonging to Barley School, Katni, by the Indian Railways.During the investigation, it was found that P.C. Further evidence revealed that P.C. Singh neither sought permission from NDTA nor informed them about the receipt of the compensation amount, despite NDTA being the legally authorized entity. As a result, additional sections—467, 468, and 471 of the IPC—have been added to the charges. The EOW team arrested P.C. Singh in Mangalore and is currently interrogating him.
