Bhubaneswar: City boy Nabaneet Priyadarshi was the highest scorer from Odisha, securing 99.989 percentile in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025, the results of which were published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday.
Priyadarshi, student of a school in Unit VIII, said he balanced coaching and school classes while preparing for JEE Main. "Mathematics and physics are my favourite subjects. I put extra effort into chemistry. I focused on practice sets before appearing for the test," he added.
Priyadarshi was the state topper in the January session of JEE Main exam too. He did not get a good percentile in the second (April) session, so the first session score was considered. He is interested in working in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). "My preference is
IIT Bombay. I will choose computer science as the subject of my study because I like AI," he said.
Priyadarshi's father is a govt employee, and his mother is a homemaker. "My parents inspired me to do well in the exam. I did not have any exam pressure. My teachers taught me so well, which helped me score well. I was not using mobile phones during my exam preparation," said Priyadarshi.
The first session of JEE Main was conducted from Jan 22 to 29. Session II was conducted between April 2 and 8. In the second session, a total of 10,61,840 candidates registered for the exam, while 9,92,350 appeared, said the release issued by NTA.
