Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) president Pratibha Singh on Tuesday announced that a state-level "Samvidhan Bachao (Save the Constitution)" rally would be held at Ambedkar Chowk here on April 25.
The rally will be held with an aim to protect the constitutional values, said Pratibha.
The state party president mentioned that the Congress state in-charge, Rajani Patil, was visiting Shimla on April 24 and she would also participate in the rally.
Briefing the mediapersons after a party meeting at Rajiv Bhawan, the state Congress president said as per the party's national schedule, district-level "Samvidhan Bachao" rallies would also be held in Himachal Pradesh from May 3 to 10, assembly-level rallies from May 11 to 17, and finally, the door-to-door campaign at block level would be held from May 20 to 30. She said these events would be held for a year across the country.
Earlier in the day, Pratibha Singh chaired a meeting, which was also attended by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, his deputy Mukesh Agnihotri and other ministers.
Congress MLAs and party candidates in the 2022 assembly elections were also present.
