Chennai’s DakshinaChitra set to host LangFest 2025

CHENNAI: The annual LangFest will be held at DakshinaChitra in Chennai from Feb 21 to 23.
The theme of LangFest 2025 is “Art, Artists, and Language - how artists use language not only as a medium of expression but also as a powerful message in itself. It will feature a diverse range of events designed to spark conversation and inspiration, including thought provoking panels, live performances, and an interactive film festival.
Here is the schedule:
Feb 21
  • 11.30am - 12.30pm: Camera as Witness Ram Rahman in conversation with R V Ramani
  • 12.30pm - 1.30pm: AI and Language Meru Gokhale, Hemanth B and Ramesh Acharya in conversation with John Xavier
  • 2.30pm - 3.30: Beyond documenting - Artistic Glimpses in documentaries Amshan Kumar, RR Srinivasan and Ravi Subramanian in conversation with Kutti Revathi
  • 3.30pm - 4.30pm: Biennale - Negotiating Art & Identity Siddharth Sivakumar in conversation with Vaishna Roy
  • 4.30pm - 5.30pm: It's no Laughing Matter: Comics and Graphic Novels Orjit Sen in conversation with Aunohita Mojumdar
  • 5.30pm - 6.30pm: Play: ‘NAAN SAVITHIRI BAIYAI PADIKIREN’ A solo play by P. Arokia Mary Stella @Kanali Mandapam, DakshinaChitra

Feb 22
  • 11.am- 12.00: People's Music in the 21st century Arivu in conversation with Karthik Raja Karuppusamy
  • 12.00 – 1pm: The artistic language of Science Jahnavi Phalkey in conversation with Shubashree Desikan
  • 2pm- 2.45 pm: Burn Down Your House | Provocations from Kabir Shabnam Virmani in conversation with A Mangai
  • 2.50pm - 4.26pm: Koi Sunta Hai: Journeys with Kumar & Kabir A film by Shabnam Virmani
