The Golden State Warriors give Stephen Curry a stunning 5-word tribute
The Golden State Warriors picked up another win, thanks to the astonishing 56-point show by
Stephen Curry. He single-handedly shifted the direction of the game against the Orlando Magic in the Warriors’ favor.
Curry finished the night shooting an efficient 16-of-25 from the field, knocking down a staggering 12-of-19 from three-point range. He was also perfect from the free-throw line, converting all 12 attempts.
After the game, the Warriors took to X (formerly Twitter) to sum up the night in just five words: “The greatest show in sports.” It is indeed, if not the greatest, certainly one of the most dominant showdowns in the recent history of the NBA.
Golden State’s acquisition of
Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat at the trade deadline was a move designed to bolster their postseason push. Since adding Butler, the Warriors have gone 7-1.
While Butler had a quiet night against the Magic, scoring just five points on 1-of-7 shooting, his chemistry with the team is certainly remarkable. Although Butler was not in his A-game, he still added 7 assists and 4 rebounds on the board.
Despite Curry’s brilliance, the rest of the team had an inconsistent night. Quinten Post was the Warriors’ second-leading scorer with 18 points. Draymond Green recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, also adding four assists. However, the backcourt duo of Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody struggled offensively, shooting a combined 4-for-17 from the field.
Golden State’s rebounding efforts were solid, collecting 43 total boards, including 11 offensive rebounds.
As for the Magic, Paolo Banchero was also in his A-game, adding 41 points, and Franz Wagner followed with 27 points but fell short of just 6 points at their home ground, Kia Center, Orlando.
