CHENNAI: Adani Kattupalli Port through its CSR programmes has installed RO plants at Kulathumedu-Pulicat panchayat and Kottaikuppam and Ambedkar Nagar- Kottaikuppam panchayat to ensure safe drinking water to the fishermen families.
The village administration of Kattupalli, Light House, Kattur and Voyalur panchayats had requested Adani Kattupalli Port to provide a tractor with trolley to collect the garbage to make area clean and tidy. The company provided four tractors with trolleys for the above panchayats at the total cost of Rs 37 lakh.
The fishermen community living in Nadur Madha Kuppam village of Kottaikuppam panchayat had sought construction of a toilet block to evade the various problems encountered by the community. Accordingly, Adani Kattupalli Port constructed a toilet block consisting of 12 toilets.
It is expected that the above works will benefit more than 12,190 families in those panchayats. They were inaugurated and handed over to the village administrations by Cherian Abraham, chief operating officer, Adani Kattupalli & Ennore Ports.
The company has spent Rs 96.22 lakh for the above works.
