Chennai: Three men were arrested at Nungambakkam for smuggling methamphetamine and selling it to teenagers in the city.
A police team seized six grams of methamphetamine, 12,500 in cash, three mobile phones and 26 syringes from the trio.
Based on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) officials maintained surveillance at Nungambakkam and found three men loitering in the neighbourhood, said officials. The trio was detained for questioning.
During interrogation, they were identified as G Ram Chander, 34, of Gingee in Villupuram district, S Karthik Raja, 27, of Natham in Dindigul, and Mohammad Jagabar Sadiq, 24, of Nagapattinam.
The trio was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
