CUTTACK: Commissionerate Police on Sunday busted a gang of bike-lifters in the city. Five persons were arrested and four motorcycles and 16 mobile phones found in their possession.
The accused were identified as Dipu Pingua, Saroj Das, Amira Nayak, Krushna Chandra Nayak and Ashok Sahoo. Police acted on a complaint by Madhusudan Sahoo of Dadhapatana in Cuttack regarding the theft of his bike near Puri canal road on June 3.

Getting a tip-off from a source, police caught Dipu and Saroj while they were shifting the bike to a garage in Cuttack on Sunday.
During interrogation, the duo revealed the names of all the gang members and information about the stolen motorcycles and mobile phones.
"We raided the houses of the accused and found the bikes and phones. All five have been forwarded to court," said DCP (Cuttack) Akhileswar Singh.
"We are investigating the case to ascertain the involvement of others," he added.
