Pedalling past all odds: Taxi driver’s daughter secures 3rd rank in Class 10
Rudrapur: Deepa Joshi, a class 10 student of Pushpa Priyanka Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Nanakmatta, Udham Singh Nagar, has secured the third position in the state board examination. Her success is not just a personal triumph but a beacon of inspiration for many.
Hailing from Barkidandi village, Deepa cycles 5 km daily to attend school. Her father, Gopal Dutt Joshi, works as a taxi driver in Delhi, while her mother manages the household. Despite facing financial challenges and living away from her father, Deepa's unshakable resolve and relentless hard work have earned her a place among the state's top students.
Originally from Ramak in Devidhura, Champawat, the family moved to Nanakmatta in search of better educational opportunities for their children. Deepa lives with her mother and two siblings — her elder sister, Sunita Joshi, who secured the 19th state rank last year, and younger brother Himanshu, who also studies in the same school.
"I dedicate my success to my parents and teachers, who supported me unconditionally. I wish to become an IAS officer," said Deepa, her face lighting up with pride and hope.
Principal Pradeep Kumar called her success a moment of joy for the entire school. "Deepa is an exceptionally disciplined and hardworking student. Her achievement is an inspiration to others."
