GHAZIABAD: A 28-year-old man was arrested by Ghaziabad police for allegedly spitting on bread during a religious event in the Gagan Vihar area under the jurisdiction of Teela Mod police station.
The action was taken after a 57-second video of the incident went viral on social media platforms.

According to police, the accused was identified as Shavez, a resident of Loni.
Saloni Aggarwal, ACP of Shalimar Garden, said that the incident occurred in Gagan Vihar, where a religious gathering was held on March 25. A contractor named Aalishan was responsible for organising the food distribution at the event.
“Aalishan assigned two people to make bread in the tandoor. One of them, a young man named Shavez, was caught spitting on the bread while making it. People present at the scene recorded a video of the incident and informed the police,” she said.
“Based on a complaint by a local resident named Manish, an FIR was lodged against the accused under the section of 271 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 272 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of BNS,” ACP said.
