NEW DELHI: Following the inauguration of the Kampur bridge, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared a personal childhood memory connected to the location.
The chief minister posted on X about his experience riding an elephant on the newly rebuilt Kopili river bridge at Kampur. He mentioned his past role as a child actor in "Kokadeuta Nati Aru Hati," where he had performed a similar scene on the same bridge many years ago.

Describing the experience as "Reel to Real," CM Sarma shared on X: "Perhaps some of you may not know that many decades ago, I played the role of a child in a film. In one scene of that film, I was riding an elephant on a bridge. Today, the same bridge was rebuilt and dedicated to the public and I also rode an elephant again. This is called, Reel to Real."
In another X post, he stated: "Kampur Kapili Bridge brings a wave of nostalgia as it is in this very location, I rode an elephant years back for the film 'Kokadeuta Nati aur Hati'. Today as I dedicated the new bridge here, a long demand of the people, I couldn't help but recreate the cult scene."
