Tripura CM Saha holds meeting with Reliance Jio delegation to ensure investment in state
Agartala: Tripura chief minister Manik Saha on Saturday held a meeting with a delegation from Reliance Jio along with the secretaries of all major departments to bolster investment opportunities in the state.
"With industry giants showing interest, Tripura stands on the cusp of a new era of development, innovation, and economic expansion under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Saha said.
Saha mentioned insights from his earlier discussions with Mukesh Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries, during their meetings in Mumbai and at Advantage Assam 2.0 in Guwahati. He said the state govt has initiated a move to make the discussion a reality for a Viksit Tripura — a developed and a progressive state.
Acting on his guidance, a team of officials led by the business head, northeastern zone, Reliance Jio, visited Tripura to explore promising investment avenues in IT and IT-enabled services, data centres, natural gas exploration, fertiliser production, petroleum, ethanol production from bamboo, rubber wood furniture, agro-produces processing and tourism, CM Saha said.
"Their keen interest in the IT sector is particularly exciting. I look forward to a fruitful collaboration with Reliance Group of Industries to transform Tripura's future," he said, adding that multiple investors have already expressed interest in the state and have signed memorandums of understanding.
"I have personally spoken with Mukesh Ambani, Gautam Adani, and Tata Group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran. They have assured their commitment to investing in Tripura, marking a significant step forward for the state's economic and infrastructural growth," Saha added.
