Dharwad: Responding to the call by World Health Organisation to take steps to ensure that the world is free from Tuberculosis by 2030, the health officials under the National Health Mission in Dharwad district have succeeded in making 35 gram panchayats ‘TB-free', said deputy commissioner Divya Prabhu. Participating in a function to observe World TB-Free Day organised by the district health and family welfare department here on Monday, she said there are 3,323 TB positive cases at present in the district and majority of them are found in Hubballi city. She said the officials of the departments concerned should work as a team to make the entire district free from TB. Divya said from Jan 2023, 2,292 persons have been provided treatment for TB and the recovery rate is 87%. ZP CEO Bhuvanesh Patil said steps are being taken to make all 146 GPs in the district free from TB.
