Police dog uncovers 7.5kg of ganja hidden under fodder

Bidar: Police dog Deepa unearthed 7.5kg of ganja at Vijayanagar tanda in Aurad taluk, Bidar district, within Santapur police station limits on Saturday. The authorities apprehended an individual in connection with the case. Police arrested Ambaji Kondiba Chavvan,60, following a targeted operation at 3.30pm on Saturday, acting upon reliable intelligence.
Following reports that the accused was distributing ganja from a small hut in his field, authorities deployed Deepa for a thorough inspection. The police dog confirmed the presence of ganja, which was concealed in a bag beneath tur bran fodder.
Santpur police station documented the incident. Officials present during the operation included tahsildar Mallashetti Chidre, Nandakumar Orde, Ashoka, Sunilakumar Core, Eknath, Kotresh, Rama Reddy, Subhash, and Siddanna.
