Jodhpur/Jaisalmer: The Marwar Rajput Sabha organised a protest march in Jodhpur Monday against Samajwadi Party MP Ramjilal Suman's controversial remarks about Maharana Sanga in the Rajya Sabha last week. The march, which began at the Marwar Rajput Sabha Bhawan on Paota B Road, concluded at the collectorate with the submission of a memorandum to the collector.
Meanwhile, Union minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, speaking at a BJP Holi celebration in Pokhran Sunday, criticised Suman's statements and highlighted Maharana Sanga's undefeated battle record and 80 war injuries. He suggested that if Mulayam Singh were alive, the MP would have faced expulsion from the party.
The Sabha's general secretary, KV Singh, dismissed Suman's remarks as attention-seeking and called for an apology from Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The protest has garnered support from various community representatives who are united in their demand for immediate action against the MP.
